The Meridian Regional Airport was forced to deal with delays on Thursday because of weather problems across the country.
The same rain system that moved through our area on Thursday morning caused major delays in Atlanta, which resulted in delays in Meridian. The 1:20 p.m. flight out of Meridian was delayed by at least an hour, but everyone seemed to take the news in stride.
"All I want to do is beat that snow storm into Connecticut," Harry Darby said. "Cause I know Bradley Field going to be snowed in by tonight."
"Delays, delays," Gwendolyn Moore said. "But you know what, we learn we have to be patient, very patient. During this holiday time, you have to be patient, everybody's in a rush."
This is the first Christmas holiday season that Silver Airways is providing service in Meridian and not Delta.
