West Lauderdale Middle School Conducts Reading Fair

Lauderdale County, Miss. West Lauderdale Middle School held its annual reading fair Tuesday. Students in 5th through 8th grades took part in the fair.

Those who participated chose the fiction or non-fiction book of their liking for the project. The projects were judged based on creativity, relativity and originality.

"This has been going on for quite some time," said principal, Linda Dulaney. "It comes out of the Mississippi Department of Education; we have it every year. Winners at the school level will proceed to the district fair and those winners will go to the state fair."

Students were not required to participate but are encouraged to do so each year.
