Why the Yellow Haze?

Updated: Fri 8:46 PM, Oct 19, 2012

The sky had a yellow haze Friday. And weather officials say it was caused by dust left over from a big dust storm that affected the Great Plains Thursday.

As winds are blowing in cooler air, they also bring dust that is hovering in the atmosphere below five thousand feet.

The dust plume should make for a nice sunset and will move east of the area Friday night.
