Meridian, Miss. The winter weather has basically brought Atlanta's airport to a standstill and that also impacts Meridian Regional Airport.
In a two-week time span, three different winter storms have hit the Southeast, with the third expected to be the worst one for Atlanta.
Officials are expecting another major ice storm, that has already shut down the city. Flights to and from Meridian connect with Atlanta, so local flights are at a standstill.
"The last flight from Silver was yesterday, Tuesday afternoon, went back to Atlanta and we haven't seen a flight since," said airport president Tom Williams. "We are expected to get our first arrival in a couple days, all of it because of the weather and Silver in Atlanta."
Williams says that the next flight from Atlanta to Meridian is expected Thursday night, weather permitting.
