Woman Sentenced in Neshoba Sex Abuse Case

A woman has been sentenced to 18 months in prison in a sexual abuse case from Neshoba County.

Kotelia Thompson was indicted May 14 and was charged with one count each of sexual abuse of a minor and abusive sexual contact. She pleaded guilty in September to the abusive sexual contact charge. She was sentenced earlier this month.

The indictment said the abuse happened in August and September 2011 with a girl who was under the age of 16 on land belonging to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Neshoba County.

Thompson was charged in U.S. District Court in Jackson.
