A group of women from around Mississippi gathered to show off their works of art Tuesday at Meridian Museum of Art.
The museum is hosting the Mississippi State Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
The committee is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of women in art. The 2014 showcase consists of paintings and sculptures from 19 different entrants.
The artists range in age from 22 to 91 years old with some entering more than one piece.
"And we are thrilled this year to be able to leave this work hanging in this museum, this really wonderful museum, until April 26," said MSC president, Lillian Wade. "So we are inviting everybody to bring their friends to come out and see our show."
The committee takes the showcase to different locations around the state each year.
