The Clarke County Chamber of Commerce held it's annual meeting and banquet Monday night in Quitman.
Journalist and author Walt Grayson of "Look Around Mississippi" was the guest speaker. The banquet highlighted the successes of the county this past year including the 175th birthday celebration and the Quitman parade which had record attendance and participants.
"Clarke County Chamber of Commerce is always promoting economic development and we always out looking for industries and promoting our county as far as what we got to offer here and this coming year is going to be no different. We going be out looking for industry," said Clarke Co. Chamber of Commerce President Tony Fleming.
Bernie Smith was also honored as the Citizen of the Year and Bank Plus earned the Business of the Year Award. Bobby Sellers received the Service Award and Clarke County Animal Clinic earned the Business Service Award.
