Business is back to normal at the Vimville Shell Gas Station on Highway 19 South after an armed robbery Saturday evening.
Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department says a black male entered the store around six o'clock, with a gun and demanded money. He got the cash and fled on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
We've had three armed robberies in the county of convenience stores. Many people want to tie the economy to increasing crime. It has been an increase in at least armed robberies that we have seen out in the county," said Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing tennis shoes and long blue jean shorts. He was seen wearing a lime green, hooded jacket that was turned inside out and a red bandanna with a white design on it.
"We would remind customers and individuals as they come and go around businesses to pay attention, be mindful of who's there, be aware of who's sitting in cars or standing around buildings and if any time see anything suspicious, dial 911 so that an officer can be dispatched to check it out," said Calhoun.
