The Make-A-Wish Foundation held its Meridian Walk Kickoff Tuesday night at the Chillihouse in Meridian. That walk is scheduled for April 4th.
Coordinators say they are having the walk because the organization needs to raise more money to grant wishes.
The foundation grants about 80 wishes a year. At the kickoff, three wish families gave their testimonies about how this foundation has bettered their lives.
"We try to grant the real, true wish of the child and make sure that it is the child's wish. And then we do everything we can to make the magic happen and make the child's wish come true. And it gives the child a lot of hope, strength and joy," said Jay Walsh of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
