The Meridian City Council Tuesday night approved the final development agreement for the Threefoot project.
The council approved the project back in December, but Tuesday voted 3-2 to pass the final agreement.
Meridian chief administrative officer Ken Storms said this is another step toward seeing the project come to pass.
"Well the work has already started, as you can see the window washing type scaffold has gone up," said Storms. "We're taking a look at all the bricks and the facade of the building. Contracts are going out with White Construction, from what I understand, to do a lot of the demolition type stuff inside the building."
Storms said in 14 to 18 months we will see a hotel there.
