Meridian, Miss. Singing Brakeman Park was bustling today with over three hundred people taking part in the farmers market.

The market which has been around for over forty years, has seen a decline in customers over the years, but today was a different story. Those in attendance were allowed to sample some of the produce. One farmer says he has seen a big change since the market first started.

"When I first came here, there were twelve to fifteen truckers here under the bridge," said Farmer James Ford. "There was probably ten times as many people who came here then and they are just gradually doing it away. I think a lot of it is because farmers have died."

The farmers market is open Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 1 PM from April until November.
