Jackson, Miss. A former Meridian Police officer is suing the City of Meridian for violation of his civil rights.
Dean Harper, who was a Meridian officer for 23 years, a captain, and spokesman for the department when he was terminated back in October, filed a lawsuit in federal court this week. Not much information was available, but in the filing, Harper contends the City violated his civil rights before and when he was fired.
The newly-filed case will be heard in Mississippi's Southern District Court, although a court date has not been released yet.
