Meridian Police Take Juveniles in Custody for Armed Robbery/Carjacking

Meridian, Miss. Meridian Police are investigating several armed robberies, including one over the weekend they say was committed by juveniles.
Police say a woman says she was carjacked at gunpoint by two suspects Saturday night on 29th street. The victim said the two robbed her of her keys and purse and took off in her car. Police found the car with the two suspects, and took them into custody. Police say one suspect was 12 years old, and the other was 14 years old. Charges are pending. Police are also looking for clues in the strong armed robbery of a Meridian man saturday afternoon. He says two men and several women assaulted him on 25th avenue, stealing his wallet. Another Meridian resident called MPD after being robbed at gunpoint late friday in the 4500 block of Highway 39 North. The victim says the suspect pulled a handgun and demanded money, then struck the victim in the face with the gun. A description was not available.
