The Temple Theatre had a large crowd tonight for a pre-Thanksgiving concert.
Gospel music artists Michael Combs, the Down East Boys and Second Mile had the audience cheering and clapping. Over 400 people were in the crowd -from the stage to the balcony. A thanksgiving-eve concert was once a tradition in mississippi, and singer Richard Ferguson says they wanted to bring it back - but this time a little earlier.
"I knew that they wouldn't come out the Wednesday night before like they did years ago, but I felt like they would come out the Saturday night before Thanksgiving, gives them that last little punch right before we get into the holiday season. It's a way to kick off the holiday season gospel style before we get into the holiday season," said Ferguson of the Second Mile.
Ferguson said they were very pleased with tonight's turnout.
