"Volunteer Mississippi" Coming to Meridian

Meridian, Mississippi The United Way of East Mississippi will host its second "Volunteer Mississippi" in Meridian.

Volunteer Mississippi will present opportunities to access federal funds and resources for several nonprofits including Americorps State, Vista, National Civilian Community Corps, and Senior Corps Program. The Meridian area information session is coming up at the MSU Riley Center on July 18th, at 10 a.m.

"United Way is promoting strength in our community, and also we are coming together showing that we can bring organizations together, non-profits of all aspects of our community and utilize those resources for the betterment of our community," said Stephanie Womack, Special Programs Coordinator for the United Way of East Mississippi.

The workshop will discuss the availability of federal funds to support national service programs at the local level.
