Meridian police responded to a shooting at Eastern Gardens Apartments in Meridian around 5 p.m. Monday.
Captain Dean Harper with the Meridian Police Department says a 23-year-old woman and her one-year-old infant were both shot in the arm while walking outside at the apartment complex.
Both victims were transported to Anderson Hospital in Meridian with non-life-threatening injuries. The infant was later transported to University Medical Center in Jackson.
Police were still on the scene an hour after the shooting, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, and are looking for a gray Buick Roadmaster.
