"Toddzilla" Walk Reaches Mississippi

Newscenter 11 caught up a Georgia man in our area as he walks from one end of the country to the other.

Todd Gouge, or "Toddzilla" as he is known, is walking along Highway 80 from Tybee Island, Georgia to San Diego, California with his 21-year old son Colin. Gouge tells us he began walking on January 16th to gain a new perspective on life and also to lose weight.

"Toddzilla" says he weighed around 425 pounds in January, but says he now weighs just under 400 pounds as he has walked nearly 600 miles in the last 3 months.

"I came across a philosophy," he explains. "It occurred to me that I cannot let my circumstances dictate my actions anymore. I have to make my actions control my circumstances. So an extreme change requires an extreme action. So this is just about as extreme as a 425 pound guy can come up with."
