Education and the Three Little Pigs

Hundreds of school kids got to see a professional version of the classic tale, The Three Little Pigs.

The Dallas Children's Theatre presented two shows Friday at the MSU Riley Center. Officials say there are lessons to be learned from the story, like responsibility and the value of preparation, in addition to seeing a familiar story come to life.

"The whole idea about the arts and all the aspects that link to that, both rhythm and music but as well parts of the literature that they are studying," said Dennis Sankovich, executive director of the MSU Riley Center. "We tie everything back to the school classroom."

The Riley Center brings in about a half dozen of these types of educational shows for children each year, in addition to family shows that are open to the public.
