Exchange Club Salutes Law Enforcement

The Meridian Exchange Club recognized officers of the year Wednesday.

The club honors the work of a Meridian police officer, Lauderdale County deputy, and a Mississippi state trooper each year.

Honorees are selected by their own agency, based on their job performance.

The Exchange Club has been highlighting the work of law enforcement for decades.

"This is a job that we tend to take for granted," said Exchange Club president, Duffee Williams. "It's something that is, that takes dedication. It's a way for us to recognize folks that put their lives on the line basically to protect all of us every day."

Investigator Gypsi Ward is a 14-year veteran with the sheriff's department, and handles computer crimes and assault and abuse cases.

Officer Orlando Clark started his law enforcement career in 2006 and now works patrol and is also a probation officer for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Trooper First Class Joshua Dobbs works Neshoba County for the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
