Gas prices continue rising in the twin states, inching ever closer to the $4.00 mark.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded rose about six cents last week, at a pace faster than the national average.
Prices are up about a quarter from this time last year and 15 cents from this time last month.
Mississippi is currently at a statewide average of $3/70 per gallon. In Alabama, the average is three cents higher. The national average is currently about $3.87 per gallon.
