MSU Offering Special Education Degree
Students wanting to major in education will have one more option available to them at MSU Meridian.
Starting in the fall, the university will offer a special education bachelor's degree.
College students will be able to become certified to teach in any grade from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Dr. Matt Boggan, chair of the search committee for new faculty, says this program will help meet a need not only in Mississippi, but nationwide.
"We look forward to having this program, especially since the program is right now ranked number 6 as one of the best job opportunities in America by U.S. News and World Report," Boggan said. "And so we're real happy to have this program."
Boggan said he also hopes this degree will help grow the size of MSU Meridian.
