Children Support St. Jude

Local kids celebrated a week of working to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Central United Methodist Church Preschool took part in its annual parade in downtown Meridian to benefit the organization.

The parade culminated a week of activities to raise money. St. Jude holds a special place in the hearts of the people at Central.

"We started doing this several years ago, because we had a child here who was attending at St. Jude's, so we decided to do this," said Jennifer Jones. "And it was lots fun, so we've kept it up. And the kids enjoyed it, and we raised a good bit of money to send to St. Jude's each year."

Activities included a room decorating contest, in which our own Brian Hutton, Jr., was a judge.

Each year, the preschool raises about $6,500 for the hospital.
