The city of Meridian says plans are in the works to pave several stretches of road in need of repair.
Public works director Monty Jackson says grant money from MDOT will allow for paving on 8th Street from 24th Avenue to 26th Avenue, as well as on 7th Street from 26th Avenue to 39th Avenue and portions of 29th Avenue. Jackson says the city hopes to pave other roads in town once funding is made available.
"We've identified streets that should be paved," Jackson say. "But we're trying to categorize them into the point of knowing which ones need to paved and should be paved now and some of them are going to have to wait."
Jackson says city residents should report pot holes anytime one is spotted and can do so by calling public works at 601-485-1920.
