Really glad for you, Really. Like I said, when I see the SBC or GCB or whatever they call themselves now going in the red line reaching out, then you got me. Until then-
he is just another PR stunt.
And I don't need entertainment coming from the pulpit. Sorry.

Have you ever heard Fred Luter preach? I've had the pleasure to hear him numerous times. Trust me this has nothing to do with the color of his skin. He is truly a Godly man and it is felt by MANY that he can lead the convention into the future. And we have numerous multi-racial families and people in our church every service. I believe that God has a purpose for this man's life and not everything is decided by human standards. Much prayer and seeking God's will went into electing this man as President of the Convention. If only the same would happen when electing the president of our country (now that's an election that was based SOLELY on race).

I was not saying that he wasn't qualified or had skills. He is hired because he is Black. Period. I am certain this man has many qualities and skills. The name change, the Black presidency, the PR push to change a perceived image- all marketing skills with zero to do with anything about changing real life issues. When I see family cars, church vans and buses bringing Black families to fellowship services in the SBC, then maybe...just maybe I will have a change of mind with this escapade. This is nothing more than a PR stunt.

You don't think he has the "skills or abilities" because he is black. You should be ashamed. You think the SBC elected him based on his color, and not his merit. Just what image do you think the SBC wants, that they just hired an unskilled token black to be the president of the convention for promotional purposes. Think about what your saying.

Not quite sure which is more shameful. Using this man to solve a fake problem, or this man taking the job and be used by this bunch. This has nothing to do with Luter's skills or abilities. It has everything to do with selling an image. Like the snake oil salesman from the old days.
