A Kemper county man has been charged with exploitation of children.

Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says the case against 32-year-old Tyrone Boyd was initiated through parents paying attention to their child's social media activity.

Calhoun say the parents alerted authorities about content that disturbed them. Authorities then arranged for Boyd to "meet" what he thought was a 12-year-old.

Boyd's bond was set at $25,000.

Calhoun says the case will be presented to the next available grand jury.
