Motorists traveling in Meridian could encounter a delay Friday because of a special funeral procession.

Meridian firefighters will honor one of their own, the late Capt. T.D. "Bowzer" Rowell. He will be buried Friday.

The 25-year department veteran died recently after battling a lengthy illness.

Due to the processional, temporary delays are expected from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday along:
Highway 39 to the bypass,
14th Street to 26th Avenue
26th Avenue to 8th Street
8th Street to and Highway 19 N
