Authorities have been searching in central Mississippi for a man suspected of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend and wounding her daughter in Tennessee in 2005.

The U.S. Marshals Service was acting on a tip Tuesday and searched a home in Terry for Robert Lee King.

King is on the Marshals Service's most-wanted list. He's suspected of fatally stabbing Dorothy Smith and wounding her daughter in Memphis in December 2005.

The search is documented in court records that say another man was arrested at the Terry home.

Royce Funchess allegedly pointed a pistol at an officer during the search, but surrendered after the officer fired a shot. He's charged as a felon in possession of a gun.

The search continues for King. He has ties to Tennessee, Mississippi and Chicago, authorities say.
