Business Holds Hiring Event

Dozens of people showed up for an event Wednesday in Meridian, hoping to find a job in a down economy.

Satellites Unlimited, a new business in Meridian, held an open house as it seeks 10-15 people to work as technicians. The company does maintenance for Dish Network.

"Satellites Unlimited is the leading provider in the nation for Dish. Been in business for eighteen years and we are hiring right now," said John Pamphilis. "And we are adding more people to our team to meet the growth and demands of our customers, so this gives the general public a chance to come out here meet the staff."

Most counties in this area of the state have unemployment rates at or above ten percent.
