No fatal accidents were reported on state highways in East Mississippi over the four day Thanksgiving holiday travel period. However, two people did die on state highways in other parts of Mississippi. Those crashes were in the Jackson and Greenwood areas.

In all, Mississippi troopers issued 7,495 traffic citations, worked 175 accidents, made 174 DUI arrests, 20 drug arrests and four felony arrests during the holiday period.
