GRACIE KEY YOUNG, age 60, of the Morning Star Community of Cuba, Alabama, born to Ervin and Lannie Mae Moore Key passed March 29, 2012 at Infinity Hospice, Marion, Mississippi. Service of remembrance will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 12:00 noon from Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. Willie D. Wilson, pastor, delivering the eulogy. Interment follows in the Gibbs Family cemetery, also Cuba. Mrs. Young will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Tuesday evening (April 3rd) from 3-6:00 p.m. at the Weatherly chapel. The funeral cortege will leave from the Young residence, located 5964 Sumter 27, at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Those left to cherish precious memories are: a loving and devoted husband (Melvin) of 40 years; daughters- Felicia Edwards and Rashida "Jill" (Arthur) Smith; paternal grandmother, Mattie Friday; grandchildren, Ramsey Edwards, Jamia Smith, Chloe Edwards and Jocelyn Smith; in-laws, Charles Young, Johnny (Beverly) Young, Cornelius Marshall, Melvin Marshall and Shirley Key; brothers, Joe Moore and Johnny (Anna) Jones; sister, JoAnn (Keith) Davis; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; one nephew, William "Jay" Johnson whom she raised as a son, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly. Gracie was preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, Travis McClendon, and brother, Jerome "Namon" Key.
