William "Bill" Langston Simkins

Services for Mr. William “Bill” Langston Simkins will be held 2 pm, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Clarke Venable Baptist Church with burial in the Mississippi State Veterans Cemetery. Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate.

Mr. Simkins, 77, of Decatur, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Laird Hospital in Union.

Mr. Simkins was a member of Clarke Venable Baptist Church and The Lions Club. He served approximately 25 years with NASA, and four years active duty in United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Southern Mississippi.

Survivors include:

Wife of 51 years: Barbara Sue Simkins of Decatur

2 Sons:

Dr. Scott Simkins of Auburn, AL

Ltc Steve Simkins and wife Michele of Fortson, GA

3 Grandchildren:

Daniel, Morgan, and Will Simkins

He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simkins was preceded in death by his parents, Langston Simkins and Leyla Laird Simkins and one sister, Carole Morrison.

Pallbearers: Cole Harris, Chris Harris, James Harris, Kevin Morrison, Doug Morrison and Chris Clarke

Honorary Pallbearer: Dick Mayo

Visitation will be held 12:30 pm- service time Friday at Clarke Venable Baptist Church. Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
