Church Hosts Basketball Camp

A week-long basketball camp is being offered at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian.

Young people are learning the fundamentals of the game and benefiting from the instruction of former Rust College coach, Milton Moore, who is a member of the church.

Two sessions a day are available for both boys and girls. The church sees it as a way to minister to the mind, soul and body.

"We believe that the whole person should be ministered to," said pastor, the Rev. A.D. Lewis. "And then to let them know that they are important enough for us to take to give them an opportunity to improve their skills."

The camps are offered through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the church, 544
49th Avenue, Meridian.
