The storm system continued to dump heavy rain on portions of central and south Mississippi Tuesday.

Wind brought down a limb onto a power line in Meridian on Northwood Street and it caught fire. Power was out approximately three hours in that area.

There were lots of trees down in Lauderdale County. In the Daleville community, a tree fell on a mobile home. Emergency officials say it seems to have been blown to pieces . . . Falling in several different directions.

It damaged the porch of the home, but the main part of the trailer was undamaged.

"The county took a pretty good hit last night, as far as trees, said LEMA director David Sharp. "This is the only structure that had any kind of damage to it; everything else was trees and power lines down. "

Multiple power outages were reported throughout our area after the storms.

Authorities say one person died in Vicksburg from a lightning strike in during Monday night's storm. Details were not immediately available.

Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said the storm knocked out power to the jail but a generator kicked in to continue providing power.
