The National Weather Service Office in Birmingham has issued a heat advisory for the following counties:

Pickens
Greene
Hale
Sumter
Marengo

The advisory begins at noon Thursday and is in effect until 9pm Friday.

Make sure you are staying hydrated, if you will be outside for extended periods, take breaks in the shade, and exercise early or late in the day. Also, check on the elderly, kids, and your outdoor pets.
