High pressure easing into our area from the east has kept deep rising air from establishing. Since that rising air is needed for showers and thunderstorms to develop, our area has been dry today. The shallow rising air just above the ground has allowed a few deeper cumulus clouds to form, but the clouds haven't grown thick enough to generate rain. The break may be short-lived, though, since a mid-to-upper level low pressure rounding the edge of the high pressure will work its way into our area from the east. Tuesday's showers will be limited, but the showers and thunderstorms will be more widespread for Wednesday. A high pressure ridge setting up to our west will also help to push through small low pressure waves embedded within the flow of the ridge. Those low pressure waves will help to enhance the showers and thunderstorms generated by daytime heating. Overall it's a typical summer pattern with afternoon showers and storms and highs in the 90's. Mornings will be muggy and in the 70's.

Tonight will be mostly clear. The low will be near 71. The wind will be from the southwest at less than 5 mph. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy with a chance for a few pop-up thunderstorms. The high will be near 93. The wind will be from the south-southwest at 3-8 mph. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The morning low will be near 71. The afternoon high will be near 92. Thursday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers. The morning low will be near 71. The afternoon high will be near 93. Friday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers. The morning low will be near 72. The afternoon high will be near 93. Saturday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers. The morning low will be near 73. The afternoon high will be near 93. Sunday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers. The morning low will be near 73. The afternoon high will be near 92. Monday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon showers. The morning low will be near 72. The afternoon high will be near 92.
