The rain departed all of us this morning, and the clouds are slowly breaking up. Many of us have seen at least a peek or two of sunshine so far this afternoon. Clouds will really start to clear out overnight as high pressure builds in from the west. Drier air is arriving above and below the surface, but at about 3000 feet, where our clouds are, the air is still fairly moist. We need the drier air to make it to this level before the clouds really erode.

A beautiful Valentine's Day and Friday are on tap with plentiful sunshine and highs a degree or two either side of 60. Our next cold front arrives late Friday and Saturday. Models have trended much drier with the front, so I have removed rain chances for Saturday. We look to stay way to dry at the surface to allow any precipitation to make it to the ground, but clouds will thick up on Saturday. Temperatures are not going to go anywhere on Saturday as colder air rushes in from the north. In fact, most of us will not escape the mid 40s for highs on Saturday.

Sunday starts a warm up that lasts into Tuesday, but rain looks to return late Monday as another cold front arrives. This system looks to be a fast mover with rain arriving late Monday and exiting early Tuesday. Rain amounts do not look too heavy at this point. We could manage a storm or two Monday night, but we are a little too far away to be certain at this point.
