Alabama Lawmakers Switch Parties

House Democrats Mike Millican of Hamilton; Steve Hurst of Munford; Alan Boothe of Troy; and Lesley Vance of Phenix City held a news conference Monday in Montgomery to announce their jump from the Democratic to Republican Party.

The move gives the GOP a super-majority in the House.

The four say they switched because they're very conservative, and their views are more in line with Republicans than Democrats.

The announcement comes after Republicans won majorities in the House and Senate on Nov. 2.
