MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (AP) -- The Mountain Brook City Council has approved accepting a $4.37 million grant for a flood-control project.
The Department of Homeland Security grant approved Monday night will help pay for a $10.7 project around Mountain Brook Village.
The area has been with flooding for more than 10 years. It would include installation of culverts and replacement of bridges, along with some road improvements.
The work is expected to take several years.
