Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp says arrests have been made in connection to an armed robbery at Quitman Drugs.
Christoper Chapple was arrested on drug charges July 2 in Birmingham, Alabama and has been tied to the robbery. He is also being connected with other armed robberies at locally-owned drug stores in Waynesboro, Mobile, Birmingham, and Columbia, Tennessee.
While leaving the store he robbed in Columbia, Tennessee, near Nashville in early April, he was confronted by local law enforcement officers and even fired shots at the officers before getting away. It was here that he cut himself and DNA from his blood has linked him to this robbery.
Ashley Elizabeth Wilmoth was arrested with Chapple, also on drug charges in Birmingham. Authorities say she was the driver of the get-away car after Chapple drove his victims' vehicles leaving these stores. Authorities say after the arrest she started discussing the other robberies the in which the two have been involved.
Authorities also think he may have a connection to another drug store robbery in Petal. The suspect in that robbery has been arrested but may have some connection with Chapple.
