School officials in Choctaw County say they have the funds, but now they need more instructors for the Junior ROTC program.
It was in danger of shutting down, because the school system didn't have the money for the required two instructors at each school.
But the district was able to get the money from the state legislature. Now, it's looking for instructors to help run the program.
"The efforts of the school system, with the legislature, with people in the community, we are able to have our ROTC program for one more year," said superintendent Sue Moore. "And during that time, we'll look for the funding for next year. "
The Junior ROTC program has been in existence in Choctaw County for 18 years.
