Parker Sentenced for Double Murder

A Butler, Ala., man has been sentenced on two charges of murder in Sumter County.

Ernest Parker entered a guilty plea this week and was sentenced to two life terms.

38-year-old Marian Parker and her 26-year-old niece, Leanorma Garcia, were found shot to death on Roger Ward Road in southern Sumter County in February 2008.

When the shootings occurred, officials say Parker was inside a vehicle he had borrowed, along with the two shooting victims and his 4-year-old stepdaughter.

Investigators say he left the scene and staged an accident to try to cover up the crime.

My prayers goes out to the ladies that lost their lives and to the children who are suffering. Mr. Parker did the right thing by pleading guilty. I hope one day, he realizes what he did, but I doubt it. I just hope he suffers mentally.

He doesn't even show remorse, he should been given death sentence. He does not deserve to live, he took the lives of our loves one.

got what he deserves! Should've just let them go and they would be here with their families.
