A former Mississippi heart surgeon, who was arrested this spring on marijuana-cultivation charges and was arrested this week on allegations of witness tampering, has been ordered held without bond.
Jackson County Court Judge T. Larry Wilson Thursday revoked Dr. David Bruce Allen's previous bond of $100,000, set after his March arrest on charges of marijuana cultivation, sale of a controlled substance and possession of a handgun.
Allen was arrested Wednesday on charges accusing him of bribing and tampering with witnesses in that pending drug case.
Allen told reporters before his initial court appearance that he was "falsely accused" and that "God will save me." He also warned that "this could happen to you and your family."
Allen claims that he's being prosecuted because authorities want his land in Escatawpa.
