Court records show a man accused of killing his wife as she left her job at Livingston High School Wednesday also threatened his ex-wife several years ago.
The former wife of 32-year-old Telvin Gray filed a protection order against him in 2004. They divorced in 2005.
The Tuscaloosa News reported that in her petition, the woman said Gray left vulgar messages and said he was going to get her.
Gray, of Forkland, Ala., is charged with killing Starrick Gray. Authorities were not sure how long the couple had been married or separated. Court records do not show that either filed for divorce.
Police say Gray shot his wife as she walked out a back entrance before students were released from classes. They say he fled in a Dodge Durango and was captured when the vehicle struck the back of a tractor-trailer in Marengo County.
