A 20-year-old man is being held on $75,000 bond at the Tuscaloosa County Jail, charged with murder after shooting broke out at a high school graduation party, leaving one person dead and eight wounded.
Police say Akeem Antwan Prewitt was booked into the jail Sunday.
Capt. Loyd Baker, commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, says Prewitt went to the party with four other people, one of whom had been invited.
Baker said in a statement that police were summoned to an apartment complex early Sunday and went to the clubhouse, where they found several people shot, including a 17-year-old who was dead.
Baker says witnesses reported that the shooter got into an altercation before he began firing.
