Gambling Task Force Has Greene County in Sights

The task force chief, Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson, Jr., is backed by a state Supreme Court ruling that rejects Attorney General Troy King's claim of control over the task force.

Tyson would not say Monday how he would address compliance with gambling laws at the Greenetrack bingo casino near Eutaw.

Riley says he believes the electronic bingo machines are illegal slot machines, but county and Greenetrack officials say a local constitutional amendment authorizes electronic bingo because it mentions electronic machines.

Greenetrack is the only one of four major bingo casinos in the state that the task force has not raided or attempted to raid.
