Youth Crime Spurs Talk of Curfew

Efforts are underway in Demopolis to implement a curfew, following the arrests of more than a dozen juveniles.

All were arrested within the last three weeks.

The most recent incident happened Monday morning when five juveniles were taken into custody for allegedly stealing a golf cart and bicycles.

In an effort to deter youth crime, Demopolis Police Chief Tommy Reese said he's working with city council members on a curfew. He said he hopes to have one in place within the next three weeks.
