Vice President Joe Biden is visiting the Alabama coast to assess the oil spill cleanup efforts and to meet with residents affected by the spill.
The White House says Biden is scheduled to tour the Theodore Staging Facility Thursday with the federal government's oil spill cleanup chief, retired Coast Guard admiral, Thad Allen.
Then the vice president will meet with fishermen and small business owners from the area. Biden also visited the Gulf Coast in late June.
