An Alabama newspaper is reporting that state prosecutors have subpoenaed records of former Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks.
The Birmingham News is reporting that a records request reveals the Alabama Attorney General's Office issued the subpoena to the Agriculture Department in August. The records cover much of the time that Sparks was the department's commissioner.
Sparks, a Democrat, said he did nothing wrong and that he does not know what investigators are seeking.
