Sumter County authorities say they are looking for cattle thieves who stole thousands of dollars worth of livestock from an elderly woman.

Martha James of Eutaw, Alabama discovered last week that she had been robbed by cattle thieves. James says 13 cows were stolen from her property in Sumter County. The cattle thieves apparently brought a truck and trailer and stole more than $10,000 worth of cattle.

"I'm a poor widow woman, trying to make it, and trying to live, and have something to operate to take care of my bills and stuff," James said. "I can't work. I'm 75- years old. "

If you have any information that can help authorities, call the Sumter County Sheriff's Department at 205-652-7984.
