The case of a Jasper County, Miss., resident accused of killing another man in Mobile County, Ala., has been sent to a grand jury.
Michael Crocker was charged last year in the 2007 death. He moved to Jasper County after the incident.
Police say Crocker killed an employee, Stephen O’Neal Perret, who had caught him embezzling money, then cut out part of his own tongue to divert suspicion from himself. Crocker said he was attacked.
In 2011, both Crocker and his wife were charged with tax evasion.
Bail for Crocker has been set at $400,000. Half of that must be paid in cash.
